Wednesday Morning Update
Good morning folks, heavy rain is increasing across the area this morning and will continue throughout the day. Use extreme caution when driving as standing water on area roadways could cause an accident. If you live in a flood-prone area, make sure you are monitoring the latest weather conditions and be ready to relocate if flooding starts to occur. Much of the area has already received at least a half inch of rain, with Hodgenville checking in with 0.82” of rain at 4 AM this morning. Rainfall amounts for the remainder of the day will be higher to the northwest, but much of the area should pick up an additional inch of rain today.
We’ll see a temporary break in the action on Thursday before more heavy rain moves in Friday and Saturday. Additional rainfall amounts between three and four inches are likely by Saturday night, with the most torrential rain expected to fall right over our area.
Flood Watch continues for the entire area through tonight. Always remember that a Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for flooding, especially in flood-prone areas. If you live in a flood-prone area, make sure that you are monitoring the latest weather conditions and forecasts.
Im still monitoring the potential for severe weather on Saturday. There are still a lot of questions regarding how this will setup, but this is a system that has my attention. Ill have more on this as we get closer to the event.
Stay safe out there everyone, I'll have another blog this evening!
