Friday Morning Update
Good morning everyone! I am tracking a developing storm system that has its eyes locked on Kentucky. This system will move into the area on Sunday as rain, but will change to snow as colder air moves in Sunday night. How much snow? Well that's the big question that im not sure of just yet. The newest data this morning has shifted the storm to the south, which would mean our chances for snow accumulations have increased. The GFS shown below, shows an area of heavy snow across our area Sunday night:
The WPC shows what areas would have the best potential for 4+ inches of snow. Keep in mind, the WPC put this data out last night and will likely change this morning to show a higher probability across our area.
Before we change over to snow, we’ll have to deal with some rain. Most locations look to pick up between a half inch to as much as an inch of rainfall, which could cause some minor issues across area rivers and streams.
In conclusion, today is a big day. The data should start to agree on what's going to happen this weekend, and if the trends continue, then our chances for significant snow accumulations go up! Stay tuned!!!!
